Terms
Urth is a tool for your own text files, made by Andrew Bishop. Using the app or this site means you accept these terms. The app itself is licensed under Apple’s standard App Store license.
Your files are yours
Your notes live in your folder, on your devices and in your iCloud Drive. We never have them. That also means we can’t recover them: keep a backup, as you would of anything you care about.
Sharing
A shared link contains the note. Anyone with the link can read it, and it can’t be taken back. What you share, and your right to share it, is your responsibility. Links you receive come from whoever sent them, not from us.
This site
Write, Themes and the shared-note page run in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us. Don’t use them to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to interfere with the site.
No warranty, no liability
Urth and urth.app are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss or damage connected with them, including lost data or lost work. Where liability can’t be excluded, it’s limited to what you paid for Urth in the past twelve months.
The rest
iCloud, Apple Weather, your calendar, your browser and Cloudflare (which hosts this site) run under their own terms. Open-source software in Urth is listed on the credits page. These terms may change; the current version is always here. California law applies.
